Websites are complicated...
There are technical steps to launching a website online. It's because of the complexity of having your own website that platforms like Wix have emerged. They promise to make it easy to launch online without any technical knowledge. You typically trade convenience for uniqueness with these services, but ultimately the important issue of having a website is solved.
If something more bespoke is needed, or there is a specific set of requirements, having a website built for you is the best option. In many cases, having a web app (a website built with mobile phone users as the primary audience) is the best compromise. You get most of the interaction of a 'proper' mobile app without the technical complexities (and costs) of launching an app into the Apple or Google app stores.
